31 JULY 2012

The Duchess of Cambridge's trademark tumbling tresses are famous the world-over.

But recently, we've noticed that Kate has started to make a departure from her go-to hairstyle, the ‘Chelsea blow-dry.

And on Monday evening, the brunette beauty stepped out sporting a chic chignon, prompting thousands of royal watchers to comment on her new style.

She has started to experiment with her locks, incorporating knots and plaits into her dos for official events.

Last month, she stepped out for a friend's wedding with a half up do that was pinned back into a braid.

And she showed off an elegant knotted bun for the London Olympic Gala, that had been put in place by a team from celebrity snipper Richard Ward's salon in Chelsea.
