Spring has definitely sprung – you only have to check out celebrity romances for the proof. On the heels of the news that supermodel Claudia Schiffer is planning to tie the knot next month, Pretty Woman star Richard Gere is reportedly set to marry his longtime girlfriend Carey Lowell.

The Daily Mail says the 52-year-old actor has proposed to Carey, the mother of his two-year old son Homer, though the date hasn’t yet been revealed. “As far as I am concerned we are now man and wife,” says Richard. “But we haven’t got around to the actual marriage and I don’t know if it will be this year.”

Wedding bells are also on the horizon for Trainspotting star Jonny Lee Miller and his girlfriend – now fiancée –Lisa Faulkner. Jonny recently popped the question on bended knee to the ex-Holby City star, and she tearfully accepted. “My ideal would be making a film with Brad Pitt which breaks box-office records, having a baby and a wonderful husband to go home to,” says Lisa. “At least one of those is likely to come true now.”

And while some celebs are planning their nuptials, others are being bitten by the love bug. Hollywood funnyman Jim Carrey has been romancing statuesque 26-year-old Bolshoi Ballet dancer Anastasia Volochkova, who he met in Russia last year while on holiday. However, don’t expect to receive a wedding invitation anytime soon. “I'm in no hurry to get married,” says Anastasia. “But when I do, I'll do it for love.”

Two months ago Julia Sawalha said her Johnathan Creek co-star Alan Davies was “just a friend”, but the two looked a little cosier than that when they were snapped, arms draped round each other, on a romantic stroll near his Islington, North London flat. “They looked perfectly at ease, like any courting couple,” said an onlooker.
