Natasha Henstridge and Darius Campbell file for divorce

Hollywood actress Natasha Henstridge and Darius Campbell are divorcing after two years of marriage.

Species star Natasha, 38, married the Pop Idol contestant, 32, in secret in California on Valentine's Day 2011. But a source revealed that the couple have decided to split, with Darius — formerly known as Darius Danesh — moving out of the home they shared in Sherman Oaks.

Speaking to the Mail Online, Darius confirmed the news. "We decided to file for divorce and we ask for privacy at this time," he said. "We filed the divorce papers today. It was a mutual decision."

Canada-born Natasha and Darius married following a seven-year relationship, with only the actress' two sons Tristan and Asher as their witnesses.

At the time, Natasha told HELLO!, "We thought they wouldn't be bothered but they were super-excited and really wanted to be there.

"They kept it secret — I was very impressed. We didn't tell our parents for a few days afterwards. We wanted to be together and enjoy it for a while. It was really spontaneous. It was a very hard secret to keep!"

She added, "A week before Valentine's Day, Darius said, 'Let's just elope!' We love Valentine's, we're both a bit cheesy like that, so I said, 'Why not?'… It was really spontaneous…I was like that young girl who dreams about her wedding day and I really felt it had all come true."

The couple — who met on a pedestrian crossing in 2004 — exchanged vows at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, where Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier were famously wed, as were Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin in December 2003.

Darius and Natasha did split for a short time in January 2010 after work commitment forced them apart, but five months later they were reunited, and almost immediately got engaged. They had been living with Tristan and Asher in Los Angeles.

Natasha was previously married to actor Damian Chapa from 1995 until 1996. She welcomed her two sons with actor Liam Waite; Tristan is now 14, and Asher is 11.
