Olympic diver Tom Daley has revealed he will be tying the knot with fiancé Dustin Lance Black later this year. During an appearance on Thursday's This Morning, the 22-year-old spoke excitedly about his plans for 2017.
When quizzed if marriage was on the cards, the sporting ace told host Phillip Schofield: "Yes. I'm in the middle of planning all that with Lance and it's all been fun! It's a fun and exciting time… I'm really looking forward to this year actually."
Tom, who was busy cooking one of his recipes in the This Morning kitchen, also revealed that he has been busy preparing for Tokyo 2020. He added: "My mind is set on Tokyo. I've got another four years of training, six hours a day, six days a week for that one moment… and there's the World Championships this year in Budapest, so a busy year of competition and training, but hopefully… I'm looking forward to 2017."
Tom Daley has confirmed he will be getting married this year
The Plymouth-born athlete and his American fiancé have been dating since 2013 and announced their engagement two years later. In a recent interview with the Evening Standard, Tom praised his partner for understanding his intense commitment to sport. "The one good thing is he is at the top end of his field," the star explained. "He's the best at what he does and gets it.
"He gets the hard work, the dedication and the commitment you have to put into it and I get the commitment he has to put into his work. Having someone that understands, that has taken off a massive amount of pressure."
