Ashley Judd details mom Naomi's powerful words after devastating sexual harassment

Ashley Judd has detailed the powerful words her late mother Naomi Judd gave her when she decided to sue Harvey Weinstein for sexual harassment and defamation.

"She said: ‘Go get him,'" Ashley revealed on grief expert David Kessler's podcast Healing with David Kessler. The actress, who has called herself a 'three-time rape survivor' also spoke about meeting her rapist and finding "restorative-justice".

Ashley was very close to her mom Naomi

"I tried to find him and he surfaced very easily, and to make a long story short, we ended up in rocking chairs sitting by a creek together. And I said, 'I’m very interested in hearing the story you’ve carried all these years.' And we had a restorative-justice conversation about that," she bravely shared.

"I didn’t need anything from him, and it was just gravy that he made his amends and expressed his deep remorse, because healing from grief is an inside job."

In 2019 Ashley spoke about how one of her rapes has resulted in conception.

"I’m very thankful I was able to access safe and legal abortion because that rapist, who’s a Kentuckian – as am I, and I reside in Tennessee – has paternity rights in Kentucky and Tennessee. I would’ve had to co-parent with a rapist," she said.

The 54-year-old was one of the first to speak out against Harvey in October 2017. She claimed he had attempted to make her watch him shower. Harvey has always denied he defamed her.

Ashley's appearance on the podcast came three months after the tragic death of her mother Naomi after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Ashley shared her own grieving process, admitting that she focuses on her own mental health in the mornings by reading and writing and meditating.

Her 'pop' Larry Strickland, Naomi's husband, lives close by and she revealed how he comes over for coffee and they have breakfast and "grieve together
