All eyes may now be on Priscilla Presley's legal battle with her granddaughter Riley Keough over the late Lisa Marie Presley's estate, but it's not the only highly-publicized dispute that has plagued the Presley family in the past.

The two heirs to the Elvis Presley legacy and fortune are currently at odds with each other over Lisa Marie's estate following her January 12th death, after Priscilla contested a 2016 amendment her daughter made to her will, making Riley, as opposed to Priscilla and Lisa Marie's former manager Barry Siegel, the sole trustee of the estate.

It is far from the only legal and financial issue – as well as estranged relationships – that the Presley family has had to deal with, though.

As depicted in the award-winning King of Rock biopic by Baz Luhrmann, Elvis, starring Austin Butler, Tom Hanks' character, Colonel Tom Parker, caused major financial strain for Presley as his manager.

Parker's mismanagement of the late singer's money and estate left them both in debt, even though the former reportedly pocketed millions of dollars generated from Presley's success. In 1973, he sold his entire back catalog to RCA for $10.5million, of which Parker – who already received a 50% commission from Presley's work – received $6million, while the iconic entertainer received $4.5m.

A lesser known estrangement Presley had was with his step-mother, Davada "Dee" Stanley, who his father Vernon Presley married two years after his first wife, Gladys Presley – who Presley idolized – died when she was 46 in 1958.

Presley did not attend their wedding – he was stationed with the Army in Germany at the time – and according to Priscilla, "he couldn't stand her." Stanley didn't make things better when, though written after Presley's death in 1977, she not only claimed in her book Elvis, We Love You Tender, that he shared a bed with his birth mother, but also accused him of being "immoral and out of control."

Family estrangement sadly trickled down to Priscilla and Lisa Marie as well, the latter of which detailed their difficult relationship during a 2013 on The Talk, when she said: "My mom was really, really strict with me," adding: "Constrictive. I realized that is not going to work very well because it made us not get close for a very long time. We are now very close, but when I was younger, it was, like, difficult to have a relationship with somebody that’s got you… around the neck all the time."

The two butted heads throughout Lisa Marie's teens, especially after Priscilla checked in her daughter into The Castle, a Scientology center in Hollywood, to treat her drug abuse.

Despite the ongoing seemingly tense dynamics throughout the Presley family, up until Lisa Marie's death, the three Presley women expressed their love and support for one another publicly too, and most recently Priscilla maintained her granddaughter Riley was "great" and that everything was "fine" between them.
