For many of us, a sibling is a lifelong friend – and that's certainly the case for Dylan and Carys Douglas. The son and daughter of actors Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have made no secret of their close bond, often referring to one another as their "best friend," showcasing their sweet relationship through family photos posted on social media.

My 'built-in best friend'
Dylan, 26, and Carys, 23, often mark each other's birthdays on social media - and if their tributes are anything to go by, both siblings feel very lucky to have one another.
Back in April, Dylan shared his appreciation for his sister on her 23rd birthday. "23 years ago today I got a built-in best friend," he began, alongside a collection of throwback photos. Reflecting on his years spent watching Carys evolve from a girl into a woman, the proud big brother continued: "What a privilege it's been to see you grow into such an amazing woman. Happy birthday @carys.douglas I love you."

Travelling the world together
The sibling duo have enjoyed trips to faraway countries together. In January last year, the pair travelled to the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile's Patagonia region. Sharing a carousel of snaps from the trip on Instagram, including one of Carys scaling the rocky terrain whilst holding tightly onto a rope, Dylan posted: "Bottom of the planet, top of the world."

Dylan and Carys' upbringing in America
Dylan and Carys were raised in Bermuda, before their parents moved to Irvington, Westchester County, just outside of New York City. They grew up in a beautiful $12million home, which Michael and Catherine later decided to put on the market after both children left home.

Summers in Wales
The siblings also spent many summers visiting their grandparents in Catherine's hometown of Mumbles, Swansea.
"The Gower Peninsula is breathtaking," Carys told BBC Wales.
"Langland and Caswell beaches are electric in summer and covered with picturesque houses. For dramatic landscapes, Worm's Head is so romantic - but watch the tides - and Three Cliffs Bay is also stunning."
Carys also recalled her "theatrical" family's traditions including "lots of little competitions for singing and pantomime shows all summer".
"It's true, the Welsh love to sing," she added.
