The third royal garden party of the season took place on Tuesday, with King Charles and Queen Camilla delighting guests as they mingled around the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty decided to recycle an Anna Valentine dress that she first wore in 2025 for the Thanksgiving Service for VE Day. It must be a much-loved dress because the royal also wore it just a few weeks ago, while on a state visit to America. The finishing touch on the chest of the angelic dress was a dazzling jewel, and it's one with a sentimental backstory…
Camilla chose to wear the Cartier Palm Leaf brooch, which is sometimes also referred to as the paisley brooch. It is made up of 203 diamonds and it has a reported value of £50,000. The special piece is a generational heirloom of the royal family which was first made for The Queen Mother and then it was passed down to Queen Elizabeth II. Both royal ladies cherished the item and their adoration for it was clear thanks to the amount of times they were seen wearing it. The brooch has been present for many special occasions including royal weddings, Christmas celebrations and Buckingham Palace receptions.
Queen Camilla's new brooch
While the Cartier piece may have its sentimental value due to its long-standing history, Camilla also has a brand new brooch that marks a particularly historic occasion that has just taken place. During her state visit to the US with King Charles, she was pictured with a new brooch by First Lady Melania Trump.
It is customary for the King and Queen to swap gifts with their guests during a State Visit of this nature. The brooch, which has been estimated to be worth £30,000, was gifted to the Queen last September and she was seen to be wearing it while at The White House.
Cartier collection
It's not just Queen Camilla with Cartier sparkle in her jewellery box as her daughter-in-law, Princess Kate, also has an impressive collection from the brand. The royal has been sporting the world-renowned designer since 2012, and most recently, she wore Cartier during a special visit to The Royal Marsden Hospital. As well as dazzling earrings, the mother-of-three opted for the elegant 'Étincelle de Cartier Wedding Band' which features 14 brilliant-cut diamonds and 14 brilliant-cut sapphires. It retails for around £8,100.
