Andy Burnham's cabinet secretary echoes Meghan Markle in slinky £1.6k Victoria Beckham dress

A team of experts surrounds Prime Minister Andy Burnham as part of his Labour reign, and they all seem to be expertly stylish.

Last week, Cabinet Secretary Dame Antonia Romeo attended a viewing of the Bayeux Tapestry Exhibition at the British Museum, which was also visited by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Antonia looked resplendent in a stunning, past-season Victoria Beckham dress. The 51-year-old donned the off-white and red printed creation for the event, known as the 'Chain Print Dress.' The designer ensemble was priced at £1,668 when it arrived on shelves in 2019, and it appears that Antonia has given it a 2026 refresh, adding a khaki military jacket and taupe-toned high heels.

This dress was famously worn by Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex looked gorgeous as ever as she arrived for the Commonwealth Service in 2019, pregnant with her first child, Prince Archie.

Meghan's cream Victoria Beckham dress hit the headlines at the time - it skimmed her baby bump, and she accessorised to perfection, with a white circular hat and a crisp, tailored coat. Prince Harry's wife looked radiant, and it came as no surprise that she chose VB's label - she consistently wore the brand during her time as a working royal.

It seems that Victoria Beckham is the label of choice amongst Andy's team. The Prime Minister's wife, Marie-France van Heel, has been making Westminster her runway since she arrived in July.

The Dutch-born marketing executive, 56, looked incredible as she arrived at Number 10 for the first time, rocking a powder blue gown by VB's high-end label. The eye-catching design featured dramatic puffed sleeves, an elegant V-neckline, and a fishtail-style skirt. Marie completed her look with the pointed-toe heels of dreams that featured intricate white embroidery.

Marie swept her platinum locks back into a slicked bun; her camera-ready makeup look comprised warm honey-hued bronzer, black eye makeup, and deep red lipstick. It's easy to see why Marie acquired a reputation as the ultimate 'cool-girl' wife. Not only has she always been well-dressed, but she also appeared on Cilla Black's iconic '90s dating show Blind Date in 1992.
