Reese Witherspoon is ringing in the new year in full cowgirl mode. The Oscar winner went back to her southern roots in a casual-chic western look as she revealed her book club pick to kick off the new year.

In a video Reese shared on Instagram, she flashes a hard copy of Outlawed by Anna North in a wide-brimmed, straw fedora hat and a light blue, denim button-down top tucked into her jeans. She topped the button-down with a scarf.

Right before the new year, Reese revealed she embarked on a new journey of her own when she shared the sweetest snap of the newest addition to her family. The Big Little Lies actress welcomed new puppy Minnie Pearl last month following the sad loss of her long-time family dog… and it looks like she's been getting along just fine!
The 44-year-old star posted a cute picture of the tiny French Bulldog cuddling up to her daughter Ava Phillippe's own rescue pup, Border Collie cross Benji.
Reese captioned the picture: "Holiday time with the relatives... Minnie Pearl & @itsbenjitherescue". Adorable!
