Style icon Blake Lively has paid a fashionable tribute to her eight-month-old daughter James. The former Gossip Girl star has designed a bag as part of her lifestyle website Preserve and, in a sweet tribute, has named the stylish accessory after her and husband Ryan Reynolds' little girl.

The leather 'James' diaper bag costs £563 and is made from luxe Horween leather and lined with a premium plaid fabric, with a brass zip fastening that was hand-selected and imported from Switzerland.

An extra special touch for Blake, who welcomed little James in January, is that the bag was crafted by Sandast – the same company who supplied the actress with handbags in her latest hit The Age of Adaline.

The actress opened up about her decision to create a diaper bag, explaining that she wanted to bring a touch of her own personal style to the design.

"I didn't want a diaper bag that I would not carry if I wasn't a mama," said Blake in a statement. "I still wanted to be me.

"We loved the bag so much that we wanted to make them for more mamas. This bag will last a lifetime. That's what it's built for."

It comes as no surprise that Blake has named her new design after her daughter – she has previously admitted that she always takes James into consideration when making fashion choices.

"Since I've been 16, I've been like, 'My child will love this pieces from Forever 21'," she told Entertainment Tonight. "They're never going to want it, but that's why I'm happy to have had a girl because I have a lot of things I've been hoarding with the excuse to pass it down to her."

Blake has previously designed a dress as part of her work on Preserve

It's not the first time Blake has turned her attention to fashion design – the star also revealed she had created a dress for Preserve earlier this year, debuting the gown on Instagram.

"I may not be able to draw worth a lick, but I am proud of this dress I co-designed with Amour Vert for @preserve_us ," she wrote alongside a photo of herself wearing the pretty dress. "You better send me pics if you buy it! I want to share your photos!! #PRSRV so I see it…"
