Alexa Chung and cool are two words that are often placed next to each other. On Monday, she looked sartorially-savvy wearing a grey and mint green striped jumper teamed with a pair of cropped jeans while walking around New York. The model and television presenter accompanied her outfit with a pair of statement red sunglasses, a tote bag and a pair of black and cream block heel shoes.

Alexa worked not just one, but two great looks on the same day. That evening, she wowed in a floor length semi-sheer gown as she joined other A-listers on the red carpet at the Met Gala 2017. The black and white polka dot design delicately hung off her waif-like physique, showcasing her slim waist and sculpted arms. When it came to make-up, the 33-year-old opted for a smouldering look, outlining her eyes in liquid eyeliner before layering her lashes with black mascara. Her natural beauty was further enhanced with a touch of peach blush and a rose-tinted matte lipstick, while her long brown hair was worn down in loose waves that gently cascaded around her shoulders.

Vogue's contributing editor has previously spoken out about being a style icon. When asked by Elle Australia whether she ever feels the pressure from holding such a label, she said: “It’s very flattering. But when I poke around Instagram, or look at the streets of New York, obviously there are so many people that could be applied to, they just don’t have that spotlight on them.” Continuing, she added: “I feel honoured to be given that term because clothes are something I love, and style is something I think about and enjoy.”
