Sarah Jessica Parker will always have great keepsakes from her Sex and the City days because she has "95 per cent" of her onscreen wardrobe in storage. The actress shot to fame portraying sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw on the hit drama series, which aired from 1998 to 2004, and her character became known for her fashionable style.

Sarah Jessica has been lucky enough to keep hold of the majority of the clothing she wore on the show, but instead of adding the pieces to her own wardrobe, she has instead stored the designer gear away as memorabilia.

Sarah Jessica Parker says she has kept 95% of her character's wardrobe

"We have probably 95 per cent of the clothing archived," she shared during an interview at New York's Vulture Festival on Sunday. "I have it all. I don't touch it or wear it, but all of that is really meaningful."

And her most prized possession from the Sex and the City TV set is her character's famous 'Carrie' nameplate necklace. "I have the Carrie necklace still," she added. "I love it and it's tucked away somewhere safe."

Sarah Jessica has reprised her role as Carrie for two film adaptations to date, starting in 2008, but the critical reception for both projects has been mixed, particularly for the big screen sequel, 2010's Sex and the City 2.

The star admits the storyline for the most recent movie left much to be desired, but it was still a success commercially, grossing $288.3million (£221.7million) worldwide.

"I can see where we fell short on that movie, and I'm perfectly happy to say that publicly," she declared. "I will say, I also understand how much friggin' (sic) money it made."

Sarah Jessica and her co-stars Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon have long been rumoured to be planning a third movie, but the 52-year-old refuses to be drawn on reports suggesting a script has already been written.

Asked about the purported project, she simply smiled, "I don't know."
