The Princess of Wales has famously worn some of the most breathtaking pieces of jewellery from the royal vault. However, Prince William's wife, 44, isn't just about recycling heirloom pieces. She has built a small but mighty collection of earrings from a Chelsea-based designer – and they are earrings that she can pass down to the next generation.
Kate's collection of Robinson Pelham earrings is highly desirable and tells us a little something about the royal wearer.

"It would be easy to default to dipping into the royal archive with all its magnificent, decadent pieces, but by commissioning her own pieces and choosing a jeweller known for unique, joyful pieces, Kate in no way dilutes her style and personality," Jessica Flinn-Allen, a jewellery designer with a degree in metalwork and founder of Jessica Flinn Fine Jewellery, tells us.
"These investment pieces can be worn again and again, and are potential heirloom pieces for her children and grandchildren. This makes them much more meaningful and special, in particular Kate's pieces that were commissioned by her family for her wedding, ensuring that a piece of her family remains with her when she steps into royal life."

Jessica adds: "By choosing these pieces, she is also supporting a UK-based, women-owned business, which aligns with her inclusive, supportive nature. Princess Kate shows how jewellery choices are not just about pretty, sparkly pieces – they make a statement about who you are, and bring joy and connection."

"Perfect for a Christmas look, these diamond-encrusted multi-way star earrings can be worn as studs or drops," Jessica says of the style Kate wore to host her annual 'Together at Christmas' carol service at Westminster Abbey. "Kate's choice to wear them as drops is so much fun and makes the jewellery the star of the show with a demure outfit."
"These stunning drop earrings are a nod to vintage style with their six-claw diamond settings, but have a modern flair with their half-moon and teardrop-shaped blue topaz gemstones," Jessica tells us, adding that they are unique in style yet surprisingly subtle, which encapsulates Kate's overall style.
Clearly a favourite for Kate, the 'Tsar Star White Gold And Diamond Studs And Drops' from 2024 were taken for a spin in 2022 for the Top Gun premiere. "These star silhouette drop earrings are once again worn as the hero piece with an otherwise very elegant, understated look. They bring an element of glitz and glam to her look and show her fun side," says Jessica.
In 2018, the then-Duchess of Cambridge wore a pair of unusual hoops during a royal trip to Sweden. "Kate has opted for a standout earring whilst never being garish," Jessica says of the 'Oxygen Aspen earrings'. "The teardrop silhouette is a classic, and drop earrings make for an eye-catching yet elegant choice. The combination of these large drop earrings with a patterned dress feels celebratory and joyful."
A bespoke piece, Kate's wedding earrings were truly timeless, and as Jessica says, a true representation of style and substance. The jewellery designer explains: "Commissioned by her family for her big day, the oak leaf and acorn is said to be a nod to the family's coat of arms, and the style was thoughtfully designed to be in keeping with the Cartier tiara worn by Kate from the Queen's royal collection."
Kate also wore these earrings on Easter Sunday in 2019 and to a Buckingham Palace Garden Party last May. Her mother, Carole Middleton, owns a pair of Robinson Pelham earrings herself, worth £14,300, which Kate borrowed for the James Bond Spectre premiere in 2015.
