Duchess Sophie is the ultimate Sloane Ranger in hiking boots - and platinum blonde hair

The Duchess of Edinburgh is just as comfortable in hiking boots as she is in summery espadrilles, she proved on Wednesday.

During a visit to Nook Farm in Rosthwaite, Sophie took the countryside location as an opportunity to show off her laid-back Sloane Ranger style as she heard about the innovative approaches they are implementing to build a resilient and sustainable future for the farm.

Looking perfectly at ease as she strolled through cow fields and observed lambs, the royal recycled the same Meindl Boots from the day before, alongside beige straight-leg hiking trousers and a baby blue shirt.

To keep the cool wind at bay, she layered a herringbone blazer over the top, which looked similar to her ME+EM 'Boyfriend Blazer' from a visit to the School Farm and County Fair in Suffolk in 2023.

After shocking fans with her dramatic hair transformation in July, chopping her mid-length tresses to a bouncy bob, Sophie appears to have been gradually lightening the colour. She appeared blonder than ever with her fresh chop as she carried out day two of her Cumbria tour.

On Tuesday, the Duchess once again showcased her country-chic wardrobe as she battled the elements with ease.

During a visit to Whins Farm near Kendal, the 61-year-old royal braved the wind and the rain as she opened the first farm in the Addington Fund's New Entrant Scheme. Sophie was dressed for the occasion in a smart tweed jacket from ME+EM and flattering chocolate corduroy flares from Paige, finished with a gold-buckled belt at the waist.

As Patron of the Addington Fund, Prince Edward's wife launched the charity's New Entrant Scheme, giving first-generation farmers a crucial foot on the ladder to protect small-scale hill farms.

The Duchess of Edinburgh is concluding her two-day royal tour of Cumbria today, after placing a spotlight on sustainable agriculture, the rural economy, and supporting young farming talent.

Exploring regional food networks near Penrith, Sophie previously met local growers at the 'Home Grown Here' community initiative. She also connected with representatives from the Royal Countryside Fund, the West Lakeland Farmer-Led Nature Recovery project, and Penrith Young Farmers during their 90th anniversary celebrations.
