The Princess of Wales effortlessly blends designer labels with high street brands, and Zara is one of her favourite shops for affordable items.
The latest addition to her Zara collection is a navy blazer, which is a past-season buy that she has kept hidden in her wardrobe until now. As identified by royal fashion fan account Middleton Maven, the Princess was pictured in the double-breasted design with gold buttons during a meeting with Bill Gates' ex, Melinda French Gates, where Pivotal and The Royal Foundation plan to collaborate to help young people flourish.
One photo was released from the meeting, showing Princess Catherine elevating her high street workwear with matching navy wide-leg trousers from LAUREN, secured with a Victoria Beckham belt. A white top and Gianvito Rossi boots completed her autumnal attire, which perfectly complemented Melinda's burgundy knit dress.
How the Princess of Wales' approach to tailoring has changed
Tailoring has been a crucial formula in the Princess' wardrobe since before she married into the royal family in 2011.
Photographs of the then-girlfriend of Prince William walking to work as an accessories buyer for high street chain Jigsaw showed her default uniform was nearly always built around a sharp blazer.
She often paired the slim-fit, shorter-hem designs with button-down shirts and knee-high boots for the classic 2000s look.
Princess Catherine's Zara blazer collection
Since then, Catherine has shifted towards longline blazers, such as the cobalt blue textured one she wore during the royal tour of Scotland in 2021 and recycled for Coach Core's 10th anniversary in October 2022.
The mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis also owns the crimson red version, which she debuted at the Euro 2020 final in 2021, and re-styled in Copenhagen in February 2022.
Proving she is collecting blazers in every colour, the royal's cream blazer made its first outing at the Landau Forte College Derby in February 2023, two years after she opted for bright green for an official St Patrick’s Day broadcast.
