Autumn comes with a set of failsafe fashion rules that even royals such as the Duchess of Edinburgh follow.
Some of the key ones include recycling your favourite timeless wardrobe staples in rich colours, and layering pieces to account for the unpredictable weather. Ticking off both in one look, Duchess Sophie stepped out in Finland in a pair of Victoria Beckham flares that she debuted in 2024.
The £590 'Alina' trousers feature a high-waisted design and a tailored pleat down the front, with the brand describing them as "one of Victoria’s personal favourites." Victoria Beckham notes that the trousers are "presented in a luxurious Tobacco jacquard wool" with a "super-high waist and flared leg for an elongated silhouette."
She teamed them with a velvet maroon blazer from Frame and matching merlot block-heel boots from Office, which cost a bargain £60, according to Palace Fashion Files.
Sophie chose the same colour combination when she wore the flares to the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, pairing them with a maroon silk blouse by Frame and coordinating pumps by Jimmy Choo.
Duchess Sophie's love of Victoria Beckham clothing
Sophie has been a long-term supporter of the former Spice Girl's eponymous fashion label. She first began wearing her designs in 2018, when she famously stepped out at the BGC Charity Day in a bright blue, structured dress.
Since then, she has worn a number of Victoria Beckham's suits. In March, she wore the bluebell power suit for the DEBRA Global EB Task Force Event in Kent, before stepping out in a forest green suit at Christiansborg Palace in May.
Styling tailored suits like Duchess Sophie
Clare Pennington, HELLO! Fashion's Editor, previously broke down why the pop singer turned fashion designer's clothes have earned the royal stamp of approval.
The label "has become shorthand for minimal elegance that's fashion-crowd approved thanks to smart details and final touches that you might not spot on first glance," she said.
Sharing her top styling tips for the "super flattering" structured tailoring, she added: "When pairing tailored pieces together, opt for harmonious tones and don't skip the iron, as creases will undermine the final fit."
