The Duchess of Edinburgh has swapped her winter wardrobe in the UK for a summer sundress during her visit to Antigua and Barbuda.
While visiting an eye care unit in St. John’s, Antigua on Monday, Duchess Sophie struck the perfect balance between cool summer fashion and professional workwear in a denim midi dress from Gabriela Hearst.
Featuring puff sleeves, a rounded neckline and a double belt that accentuated her waist, the 'Patricie' pleated dress retails for £2,760. Sophie teamed her dress with a gold brooch and braided bracelets, styling her blonde, shoulder-length bob into a soft straight style.
The royal, who is a global ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, was pictured at Cure Blindness Project's new primary eye care unit.
"The Duchess graciously spent time meeting several patients who recently had their sight restored and some of the nurses, ophthalmologists, and leaders who are helping to make quality eye care more accessible for all of the people of Antigua and Barbuda," the post read.
She later attended the Global Summit for Eye Health alongside Trinidad Eye Hospital's Dr. Ronnie Bhola and the Honourable Michael Joseph, Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda.
During the event, which "focused on advancing access to quality eye care and tackling avoidable vision loss worldwide," the royal was pictured smiling as she posed in white heart-shaped glasses.
Duchess of Edinburgh continues to prove she's the 'secret weapon' for the royals
Duchess Sophie's latest visit comes shortly after her attitude to being a working royal was praised by etiquette expert Laura Windsor.
The author of Modern British Manners - A Cross-Cultural Series described Prince Edward's wife as the "most well-behaved royal" and the "secret weapon" of the royal family during overseas visits.
"She's always been very mature. She's always taken her role and her responsibility as if she'd been doing it since day one," added the founder of the Laura Windsor Etiquette Academy.
"You can see that by the way she walks, by the way she acts. I don't think it's so much taught. I think it's part of her character and her personality."
