The synopsis for the raunchy new 18-part show reads: "Alma Solares, a prestigious lawyer and college professor, visits her best friend for the weekend to 'process the grief' of the latter’s divorce. During the getaway, Alma meets Dario Guerra, a 23-year-old, and they have a wild tryst."

It continues: "She returns home with her husband and daughter, determined to forget her lapse in judgment, but her life becomes a living hell. What started as a minor adventure becomes an incendiary passion, and then a dangerous obsession, unravelling a chain of secrets of a past that fatally binds them all."

Have you started watching the new Mexican drama yet?

Fans are loving the Mexican show so far, with one writing: "Five minutes in and we have a murder & a cheating husband. This is already fabulous!!! #DarkDesire." Another added: "I don’t know why I started watching that #DarkDesire in the middle of the night - it’s 365 Days all over again! Some very passionate wrestling in there."

A third person is already a huge fan of Dario, writing: "Can I have a #Darío please. Like he is sooo... hot. I am still at episode one but I DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS IN the REST OF EPISODES. I have decided I will be on Darío’s side no matter what!"

The new show came to Netflix just days after it was announced that the popular series, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, has been cancelled. At the time, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told TVLine: "Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honour from Day One. The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone's favourite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show."
