Dolph Lundgren has joked he is "ready to fight another day…and eat cake" as he celebrated his 69th birthday with a series of new pictures that showed him in bed.
The first picture in the carousel showed Dolph wearing a white tee under the duvet as he blew out the candles on a tall white cake. The cake sat on a white and blue tray with a fleur-de-lis design, alongside two hot drinks.
The cake also had an edible picture transfer on top that featured Dolph with his wife Emma and his two daughters, Ida and Greta.
Ida was among family and friends to comment on the post, writing: "Let’s go!!" Terry Crews and Danny Trejo also commented to wish their "brother" a happy birthday.
Emma, 30, also shared a picture of the cake in a carousel of snaps of her and Dolph over the years, captioning her post: "Happy birthday my love! To many more."
Swedish actor Dolph is known for his action movies over the last four decades, and he welcomed Ida, 30, and 24-year-old Greta with his first wife, Anette Qviberg.
Ida is a model and actress, appearing alongside her father in the 2021 film Castle Falls, while Greta is a photographer and artist who also worked with her father on the film Wanted Man. They also co-host The Lundgren Sisters podcast.
He split from Anette in 2011, and in 2019 he met Emma at the Equinox gym they both used in Los Angeles.
"I was looking for the boxing room, and I just grabbed somebody who was going up the stairs. She looked like a trainer, and I said, 'Hey excuse me, where's the boxing room?'" Dolph recalled in a 2013 conversation with Graham Bensinger. "She turned around, and it was like, 'Oh [expletive].' It was one of those flashes where you go, 'Uh-oh.'"
The sparks didn't fly immediately on both ends, however, as they started off as friends before a romance blossomed. "I didn't know why she liked me at all, but I suppose she saw something there," he quipped.
"She didn't know about my acting career, she didn't know anything about me."
Ida also appeared on the podcast episode and acknowledged that the age-gap between Emma and her father was "weird" at the beginning, especially because Emma is the same age as Ida but once they spent time together it was "chill."
Dolph also acknowledged: "The age difference is quite severe. But I'm lucky in one way, because I'm in show business, I deal with young people all the time, I work out. I don't feel that old."
