ITV's acclaimed crime drama Gone is returning with a second season – and this time, Keeley Hawes is stepping into the spotlight.
Eve Myles reprises her role as tenacious Detective Sergeant Annie Cassidy as she investigates a new case involving paediatric surgeon Ruth Manning (Hawes).
The first season was a huge hit for ITV, launching on ITVX with 31 million streams, eclipsing all streaming records on the platform. Meanwhile, viewers hailed the series as "gripping" and "one of 2026's standout dramas".
David Morrissey (The Long Shadow, Sherwood) starred in season one as local school headmaster Michael Polly, who becomes the prime suspect in Annie Cassidy's investigation into his wife's disappearance.
It's no surprise that the show was a huge success among viewers, given it's penned by acclaimed writer George Kay (War, Hijack, Killing Eve). Plus, the show is inspired by the careers of real detective Julie Mackay, the former DS for Gloucestershire Police, and ITV Crime Correspondent Robert Murphy, who has reported on some of the most complex cases in the West of England.
