Health reason Carol Vorderman won't be sunbathing in a bikini on I'm A Celebrity

The former Countdown star had a health scare recently

Anyone who follows Carol Vorderman on Instagram will be familiar with the showstopping bikini photos she regularly shares, but the maths whizz might not be seen in her swimwear very often in the I'm A Celebrity camp.

The series, which kicks off on Monday, was pre-recorded in the South African sunshine, but Carol took to Instagram to share she wouldn't be basking in the warm weather, explaining: "I can't sunbathe anymore - or rather I choose not to - because I've had little pre-cancerous skin biopsies."

To protect her skin, Carol revealed she used self-tan instead, explaining: "I do fake tan. Do you like this one? Put that on last night, hopefully it lasts."

Despite no plans to sunbathe while she's on the show, Carol has been modelling her bikinis on her social media channel, telling her followers she's been working hard to curate her I'm A Celebrity wardrobe.

"I hate the shower bits in camp so took my time to find the bikinis that I’ll feel more comfortable in," Carol wrote alongside six sizzling snaps of her in a range of swimwear.

Fellow campmate Helen Flanagan was wowed by Carol's post, commenting with four heart eye emojis. Helen is equally fond of posting impressive bikini photos on social media, with her latest bikini photo leading Carol to comment: "I know this bikini," suggesting we'll see Helen rocking it in the camp.

What is I'm A Celebrity... South Africa all about?

The new show will see our favourite campmates from the last 20 years return to the show for another attempt at becoming king or queen of the jungle.

While they survived the Australian jungle, the new ITV show promises to "push them to their limits and test them like never before". The challenges have also been described as "bigger and tougher" while the environment is "harsher and more unforgiving".

Unlike the usual series, the show is pre-recorded, so viewers won’t be able to vote for which celebrities are taking part in Bush Tucker trials.

Instead, the contestants will be competing against each other to become an 'I'm a Celebrity Legend'.

We’re not sure if campmates will nominate themselves, as in the previous series following a week of public voting, or if their campmates will nominate others - but it should be interesting to watch!

The show will start on Monday 24 April and it will air for three weeks.
