The Princess of Wales' mother Carole Middleton, 68, is the owner of a party supplies company, Party Pieces, that she could be stepping away from soon.

While the business operates out of a converted farmhouse office now, did you know the mother-of-three used to run it from her garden shed?

Speaking to Good Housekeeping magazine, Carole reminisced about the infancy of the company, and she said: "My memories of those early days are very vivid. We worked out of a studio in the garden that was a glorified shed."

Who would have thought it? Now garden offices are all the rage!

The family used to live at West View in Cock Lane in Berkshire, and they spent 16 years living there, opposite the village green.

During the ownership, it is reported that Kate's father Michael made significant improvements on the house, including converting one of the bedrooms into a bathroom and extending the kitchen, which of course would have added to its value.

After living at West View, the family relocated to Oak Acre, also in Berkshire. Then in 2012, Carole and Michael bought Bucklebury Manor for £4.7million to seek more privacy once their daughter was welcomed into the royal family.

There is also plenty of space outside, taking full advantage of the lovely countryside views.

The company is likely to be a hit with Carole's family, especially her grandchildren as the brand has incredible ranges perfect for kids' parties. In fact, that's what inspired the idea in the first place.

The about us section of the site explains: "Back in 1987, Carole Middleton was a young mother looking for inspiration for her daughter’s birthday party when she realised there was a gap in the market for time-pressed parents like her, who wanted to create imaginative parties for their children."
