Congratulations are in order for Princess Eugenie, 36, who is now a mum of three! She welcomed her new baby on 3 August, her third child, joining siblings August, six, and Ernest, three. Her daughter is called Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank, she revealed two weeks after her arrival. Eugenie shares her three children with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and they are raising them in two different countries. Portugal retreat

In 2022, Jack accepted a role with Discovery Land Company, based at the CostaTerra Golf & Ocean Club in Portugal, and since then, the family has maintained a European base there, where they spend part of the year. While the details of their exact accommodation remain under wraps, the luxury residences on site are described as "effortless luxury for easy living" and the website reveals that their real estate offerings include "turnkey club residences, dune villas, golf pine barrens, and winery cottages".

The royal has admitted that she loves it there because of the anonymity that it affords her. "This is why Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind. Not care. No one cares," she told  Jessie and Lennie Ware during a podcast episode of Table Manners.

Her children adore the sunny stays too, and when Eugenie spoke to HELLO! In 2024, she revealed: “They love swimming. The sea in Portugal is a little bit rougher. So we've got our feet in, but Augie is a fish. He literally loves it and we have whales and dolphins all across the walls.”

Eugenie even chose to give birth in Portugal, so little Adelaide hasn't even been to the UK yet!

London cottage

Ivy Cottage
Ivy Cottage is picture perfect

Back in the UK, the family live at Kensington Palace, but not inside the main house like cousin Prince William and his family, instead in a humble cottage within the grounds. Ivy Cottage is the epitome of a traditional chocolate box cottage with white framing around the windows and front door, as well as a pristine white picket fence around the perimeter. The residence only has three bedrooms so it would mean bedroom sharing eventually now they are a family of five. Or, perhaps moving to a different property?

The sisters both have royal homes that are at risk

There's a chance that Princess Eugenie could be losing her royal accommodation at Kensington Palace, though. The Public Accounts Committee has launched an investigation into royal rents after the controversy surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's "peppercorn rent". Royal family members who are given special leases with preferential treatment, such as cut-price deals, are now under the spotlight, and this includes Eugenie's twee cottage property.
