Princess Michael of Kent stepped out at a Buckingham Palace garden party on Thursday with one rather unique accessory. The Princess wore a black eye-patch over her left eye after recent surgery, alongside a pair of ornate diamond-studded earrings and a statement pearl necklace.
The 70-year-old wife of the Queen's cousin underwent eye surgery last week, and is expected to be wearing the patch for the next month.

She wore the patch delicately concealed under a large brimmed hat, teamed with a monochrome dress with matching structured blazer.
The Czech-born royal joined her husband and 8,000 guests on the manicured lawns of the palace for the annual summer party, which was hosted by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
The Queen's daughter Princess Anne was also at the bash, opting for a floral overcoat with lilac skirt and hat.

Princess Beatrice was another royal at the garden party. The 26-year-old looked lovely in a beige dress and jacket as she mingled with guests.
The Queen, meanwhile, had donned a pink outfit for the day. A matching hat, three lines of pearls and a black pair of shoes completed her royal look.
This week the monarch presided over the state opening of Parliament. Looking as regal as ever, she had donned an embroidered cream gown and matching velvet shawl, along with a pair of white gloves, a jewel necklace and earrings and silver handbag for the occasion.

This year was no fewer than the 62nd time the monarch has opened Parliament, delivering a speech in front of the House of Lords and House of Commons that outlined the government's programme of legislation and policies for the coming year.
The Queen and Philip will be making a state visit to Germany next month and will be visiting the site of the Bergen-Belsen prisoner of war and concentration camps during the trip.
