King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla are expected to make an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony following the coronation ceremony on 6 May.

The newly-crowned couple are likely to be joined by immediate members of their family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

After weeks of speculation, the Palace confirmed in a statement earlier this week that the Duke of Sussex will attend his father's coronation, but the Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

It is not known if Prince Harry will have a role on the day or whether he will also join his family on the balcony.

For the Platinum Jubilee, the late Queen dictated that only working members of the royal family would appear on the famous balcony, ruling out Harry and Meghan.

And after the pageant celebrations, the monarch was only joined by Charles and Camilla, William, Kate, George, Charlotte and Louis for an impromptu balcony appearance. Take a look back at that moment in the clip below...

The Sussexes only one made public appearance during the Platinum Jubilee, attending a Thanksgiving Service at St Paul's Cathedral, although Meghan was spotted during a sweet interaction with Savannah and Isla Phillips and Mia and Lena Tindall at Trooping the Colour.

Harry and Meghan's last joint trip to the UK was back in September when they attended the One Young World Summit in Manchester. However, they extended their visit following the death of the Duke's grandmother, Elizabeth II.

The couple joined William and Kate at a walkabout in Windsor to view floral tributes, as well as attending the Queen's state funeral.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have spoken about life behind palace walls and their difficult relationship with the press.

Harry has shared details about his fraught relationship with his father and older brother in the couple's Netflix docuseries and his tell-all memoir, Spare, which was published in January.
