The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to attend Peter Phillips' wedding reception as he marries NHS nurse Harriet Sperling on Saturday, according to reports.

Prince William, 43, and Kate, 44, are believed to be going to both the ceremony at All Saints Church and the reception being held at Gatcombe Park, Princess Anne's home, afterwards.

The Prince of Wales will "stay for the entirety" of his cousin's celebration, according to the Daily Mail's Richard Eden.

William didn't attend his cousin's first wedding to Autumn Kelly in 2008 because he went to old friend Batian Craig's nuptials in Africa instead, meaning Kate attended on her own.

This was the first time she met William's grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

A senior royal source explained that the time that William would be "out of the country this weekend on a longstanding royal engagement". Peter is Princess Anne's son from her first marriage to Captain Mark Phillips.

King Charles and Queen Camilla's alternative plans

King Charles and Queen Camilla, however, are unlikely to attend the wedding reception, though they are expected at the church ceremony.

This is because they're scheduled to attend the Epsom Derby, more than 100 miles away in Surrey, later in the day.

This is the first time they will have attended as monarchs. They are joint patrons of the Jockey Club, which owns and runs the Surrey-based racecourse, succeeding the late Queen, who was patron for 68 years.

Queen Elizabeth only missed the historic race twice between the start of her reign in 1952 and the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

Wedding details

Gatcombe Park is Peter's childhood home, so the location carries a "special resonance" for the late Queen's eldest grandchild, HELLO! understands.

Both the wedding and the reception have been curated by Peregrine Armstrong Jones of Bentleys Entertainment. Peregrine, who is the half-brother of the late Princess Margaret's ex-husband Antony Armstrong-Jones has worked with Peter in the past, organising his 21st birthday celebrations, which were held at Windsor Castle.

Last month, HELLO! exclusively confirmed that Prince Harry, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson wouldn't be attending the wedding.

Peter, 48, proposed to paediatric nurse Harriet last summer and revealed their wedding date and location in April. Both have children from their previous relationships.

A statement issued by their spokesman said at the time: "Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today announced their wedding date.

"The summer wedding will take place at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester on Saturday 6th June 2026 in a private ceremony. Both families have been informed jointly of the wedding date by invitation.

"Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have also been informed of the announcement. Further details will be announced in due course."
