The Princess of Wales returned to Royal Ascot on Wednesday, marking the first time that she had been at the event since her cancer treatment in 2024.
Kate looked the picture of elegance in an eye-catching bright yellow dress as she was joined at the prestigious event by her husband, Prince William, and her mother, Carole Middleton.
Kate has inherited much of her mother's looks, and the pair demonstrated that as they watched the races from the Royal Box. As they turned away from the action, the pair of ladies could have been mistaken for sisters, with their facial structure looking identical.
It was also in their hats where the pair had a strong link, with both opting for headwear with millinery netting. However, while Kate's bright hat matched her outfit, Carole opted for a muted pink hat to match her own dress.
Carole's look was a favourite of hers, with the mother-of-three wearing it to Pippa Middleton's wedding back in 2017. At the time, the beautiful outfit was classic in design and gave her a polished and poised finish, perfect mother-of-the-bride attire.
One royal fan noted: "Catherine gets her beautiful looks from her parents, especially Carole. She's always stunning!!" and a second added: "They both look amazing & Carole Middleton always looks very very classy & elegant, you can see where Catherine gets it from & she suits being in the Royal Box."
Missing Ascot
The Princess of Wales has been absent from Royal Ascot over the past few years. In 2024, she understandably skipped the racing event as she underwent treatment for cancer.
In 2025, Kate was originally scheduled to appear but ended up cancelling her appearance at the last-minute. At the time, she had been listed as riding in the carriage procession along with William and professional golfer, Justin Rose, and his wife, Kate Phillips.
Last year, Kate was still trying to find the right balance between her royal commitments as well as focusing on her recovery from cancer, and she was said to have been disappointed to have not made the event.
Over the past few days, the mother-of-three has been very busy, as she attended both Trooping the Colour on Saturday and the Order of the Garter on Monday.
At Trooping the Colour, Kate and William enjoyed the balcony fly-past alongside their children. In a rare moment, the royal couple, who shun PDAs, shared a brief look of love, flashing smiles at one another.
In another sweet moment, William turned his attention to the sky for the flypast, while Kate was spotted gazing lovingly up at her husband.
