Princess Eugenie's sons are growing up so fast!

August, five, and Ernest, three, looked very tall indeed in recent photos shared by the royal, 36, for Father's Day on Sunday.

In one adorable picture, Eugenie's husband, Jack Brooksbank, was seen strolling with the two boys through London.

Eldest son August, wearing a smart blue polo shirt and jeans, appears to have had a growth spurt in recent months and seemed to be well on the way to catching up with his parents in the candid snap.

One person commented on her Instagram post: "So big already!" Another noted: "Your little guys are getting tall!"

It seems August will one day follow in the footsteps of his fellow royals, Prince George and James, Earl of Wessex, who have also started towering over their parents at public events.

Though the boys were facing away from the camera, their bright-red hair could be seen – so similar to their second cousin, Prince Archie, Prince Harry's son.

Sunday was a very special Father's Day for Eugenie and Jack, as it was the last time they will celebrate the occasion as parents of two.

Eugenie is pregnant with her third child, due this summer, with her uncle King Charles previously saying he was "delighted" at the news.

Marking a special occasion

A second photograph offered an equally heartwarming moment from a wedding celebration, with Jack crouching down in a church pew to entertain one of his sons. Surrounded by colouring books, football-themed stickers and toys, the youngster appeared completely engrossed while his father focused all his attention on him.

"Happy Father’s Day to the best there is," wrote Eugenie, calling him the "chief child entertainer for besties wedding too. The boys couldn’t ask for a better dada."

Like Harry and Meghan, Eugenie also often chooses to show her children from behind on social media, believed to be for privacy reasons.

Eugenie and Jack first met during a skiing holiday in Switzerland in 2010 and have often described it as love at first sight. They tied the knot in 2018 at St George's Chapel in Windsor.

A deliberate omission?

Eugenie is the younger daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.

Her post on Sunday was one of just three from this year, after keeping a low profile following her father's arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office back in February.

Notably, though her post was Father's Day themed, it did not contain a tribute to Andrew.

While Eugenie celebrated her sister Princess Beatrice's birthday in August, she did not publicly post for her father's 66th birthday in February or Mother's Day in March either.

Andrew has retreated from public life in recent months after his links to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and relocated to Marsh Farm in Sandringham.

However, earlier this week, it was reported by the Daily Mail that he had enjoyed a secret trip away to France at the start of the month as the guest of an Arab businessman.
