Princess Charlotte helped her mother, the Princess of Wales, complete her "toughest challenge" yet with an incredibly thoughtful gesture.
Kate, 44, was seen wearing a blue threaded friendship bracelet during her Three Peaks mountain climb last weekend, which was proudly on display as she hugged her daughter in new photos released on Sunday.
It can now be revealed that the bracelet, which appeared to be made from string, was especially crafted for her by Charlotte, 11, to encourage her during her challenge.
It meant that Kate had a touching reminder of her daughter's love and support as she completed the difficult climb, before reuniting with her family at the base of Mount Snowdon.
The gesture has clearly meant a lot to the royal mother-of-three, as she was also spotted wearing the bracelet during her appearance at Wimbledon last week, as well as her visit to the Evelina London children's hospital on Monday.
Other royals spotted wearing friendship bracelets in recent months include King Charles, Duchess Sophie and Prince George – but this is the first time it's been confirmed that Charlotte has made one.
The young royal is known to be a huge fan of singer Taylor Swift, whose fans often make friendship bracelets for concerts – so maybe this is where her inspiration has come from.
The Princess of Wales's important hospital visit
Speculation that Charlotte had made the bracelet increased after eagle-eyed fans spotted it on the Princess of Wales's wrist during her hospital visit on Monday.
During the visit, the Princess of Wales blew a kiss to a little boy with a rare vein condition during a hospital visit after the youngster made the affectionate gesture.
Kate and three-year-old Arjun traded tokens of affection when she visited Evelina London Children’s Hospital to meet children being treated at a new cardiac unit – part of a project to turn Evelina into the capital’s most comprehensive medical centre for youngsters.
The future Queen sat on the bed of the little boy, who was being discharged from hospital on Tuesday following treatment since the start of the year for a rare pulmonary vein condition after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Kate picked up his toy dinosaurs and asked their names as the three-year-old’s parents encouraged their suddenly bashful son to chat.
Evelina London’s chief executive, Gubby Ayida, said after the visit: "She’s brilliant with the children; she always lights up the place for the children when they come in.
"And some of them are quite sick, because we are a specialist hospital, so a day like this is really very special to them."
Sharing rare family photos
Princess Charlotte featured in the stunning family photos shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales on Sunday.
In one touching image, Charlotte stood beaming beside her mother after welcoming her at the finish line, while another captured the pair sharing a sweet moment as Kate reached out to hold her daughter's hands.
The candid family photographs also highlighted just how tall Charlotte has become, with the young royal now looking almost shoulder-to-shoulder with her mother in some shots.
As Kate reassured her daughter, the blue bracelet could be seen on her wrist.
