Meghan Markle proved once again that her five-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, had inherited her father Prince Harry's fiery red hair, as she marched through the grounds of her late grandmother's childhood home, Althorp.
The young royal looked joyful in Meghan's photo as she trailed behind Prince Harry and her brother, Prince Archie, sporting a floral sundress. Her fiery locks flowed down her back as she walked, glinting in the bright sunlight.
The family of four spent time at Princess Diana's home and final resting place, Althorp, during their visit to the UK in July. It appeared to be a chance for the children to connect to their roots, as they reunited with their grandfather, King Charles, and step-grandmother, Queen Camilla.
© Instagram / @meghanHarry has previously spoken about the significance of Althorp, the 13,000-acre estate where Diana grew up. The prince wrote of the first time Meghan visited Diana's grave at Althorp in his memoir, Spare.
"I led Meg up the path, around a hedge, through the labyrinth," he recalled. "There it was, looming: the grayish white oval stone. No visit to this place was ever easy, but this one...Twenty-fifth anniversary. And Meg's first time. At long last I was bringing the girl of my dreams home to meet mum."
He continued: "We hesitated, hugging, and then I went first. I placed flowers on the grave. Meg gave me a moment, and I spoke to my mother in my head, told her I missed her, asked her for guidance and clarity."
© Instagram"Feeling that Meg might also want a moment, I went around the hedge, scanned the pond," Harry added. "When I came back, Meg was kneeling, eyes shut, palms against the stone. I asked, as we walked back to the boat, what she'd prayed for. 'Clarity,' she said. 'And guidance.'"

Archie and Lilibet carry a piece of Diana with them in their fiery red locks, which were passed down through the Spencer line. "The Spencer gene is very, very strong," Harry shared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
"I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that, should this go the distance and we have kids, that there's no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife's genes – but I was wrong!"

"I remember my family first meeting her and being incredibly impressed. Some of them didn't quite know what to do with themselves," he said. "I think they were surprised. Maybe surprised that a ginger could land such a beautiful woman and such an intelligent woman."
