Princess Diana was beloved for countless reasons, from her philanthropy to her timeless royal glamour.

And we are still utterly spellbound by one summer look from the former Princess of Wales' killer sartorial portfolio.

This patterned two-piece worn by Diana is etched in our minds

The occasion was a lavish yacht trip while the Princess holidayed in Majorca in 1988. Diana slipped on a figure-flattering patterned two-piece adorned with watercolours and complete with a matching sarong.

The iconic photo of the late royal saw her standing on the top deck of the vessel sporting her natural blonde curls.

Diana was in Spain spending time with members of the . The - particularly King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía - frequently invited Prince Charles and Princess Diana to spend part of their summer holidays at the Marivent Palace in Palma de Majorca.

While we are besotted by Diana's patterned two-piece, there is another swimwear moment that has a place in our hearts, and that is, of course, her leopard-print one-piece and matching sarong skirt.

Princess Diana was first pictured wearing the leopard swimming costume in 1990, while on a family vacation to the British Virgin Islands. 

Joined by her sons Prince William and Prince Harry, sisters Lady Jane Fellowes and , and their mother, Frances Shand-Kydd, Diana besotted fans everywhere and added a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses for good measure.

High-fashion seal of approval

While Diana didn't consider herself a fashionista, the industry did, with many big-name designers talking about her royal style.

Diana never dissappointed with her exquisite taste in fashion

He told the Telegraph: "That relationship lasted almost 10 years. It was really important for me. She was the perfect client. When I look back, it was relentless for her. We did dress her up like she was going to a wedding every day."
