The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George were among the football fans to cheer on the England team as Gareth Southgate's squad take on Germany in Tuesday's Euro 2020 last-16 fixture.

Prince William, who is President of The Football Association, was joined by wife, Kate, and their eldest son, George, at Wembley stadium.

The young Prince celebrated alongside his parents as the Three Lions saw a 2-0 victory against Germany, taking the team through to the quarter-finals in Rome.

William's appearance at Wembley follows his trip to Scotland with his grandmother, the Queen, to mark Royal Week or Holyrood Week

The young Prince stood for the National Anthem with his parents at the start of the game.

He twinned with dad William in a jacket, shirt and tie, while mum Kate donned a red Zara blazer.

George, seven, attended his first football match along with his sister, Princess Charlotte, in October 2019, watching Norwich City vs Aston Villa at Carrow Road Stadium.

The young royal was also pictured in an England shirt for the official photos to mark his sixth birthday in 2019.

Although Prince George is a keen football fan, along with his father, it was the first time the youngster was in attendance at a England game.

And Prince William served as a doting father, helpfully pointing things out to his eldest son.

During the half-time break, the Prince spoke to one of his sporting heroes, David Beckham, presumably to share their happiness that England hadn't conceded.

Prince George was also seen on the sidelines, watching his father chat.

Prince William was thrilled when England emerged as the victors of the game with the final score being 2-0.

It was the first time that England had beaten Germany in a knockout football tournament since 1966, and the Prince mirrored the mood of the nation.

Young Prince George was also over the moon about the result, and the father and son celebrated together, while Kate applauded the England players.
