Sharon Stone and her family are dealing with the devastating loss of her oldest sibling.
The Oscar-nominated actress, 68, took to social media to announce the death of her brother Michael Stone, the oldest of the Stone siblings.
Alongside a photo of his, she penned: "Mike Stone. My oldest brother has passed away. Following an extended illness. We wish him peace," signing it "Sharon, Roan, Laird & Quinn," referencing her three sons. Fans inundated the comments section with condolences for the actress and her family.
While not much is known about Michael, given he wasn't a public figure as much as his younger sister, he is an actor like Sharon as well. In fact, his credits date as far back as 1990, making his screen debut in the film End of the Night.
His next role was as a "Counselor" in the 1995 film The Quick and the Dead, in which he co-starred alongside his sister, with the pair attending several events together to promote the film. He acted in several more projects throughout the 1990s, including the 1996 film Eraser and an episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
Michael continued working into the aughts, even appearing in multiple episodes of the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful as well as the show CSI: Miami. With his appearance in the latter in 2006, he took an extended break that culminated then with appearances in several shorts from 2020 to 2022.
His IMDb page also credits him as a poet going by the name "Stone Poet." In 1994, he was also engaged to socialite Tamara Beckwith, but that was called off a year later.
Sharon is the second of four Stone siblings, with Michael as the oldest, her younger brother Patrick after her, and then her sister Kelly as the youngest.
They were raised in Pennsylvania and have been close all their lives, which the actress documented extensively in her 2021 memoir The Beauty of Living Twice.
In July of 2025, their mother Dorothy Stone passed away at the age of 92, which Sharon documented with a statement that read: "My hilarious, complex mother died. A product of the last depression, let's NOT do this again. Let's protect and care."
In 2023, Sharon tragically lost her younger brother Patrick at the age of 57. In her memoir, she described Patrick as "the best of all four of us kids," calling him "big and real handsome" and having "the kindest, the most generous, the softest of heart."
Per TMZ, at the time, Patrick's wife Tasha shared in a statement: "My heart feels like it's been ripped out of my chest. Patrick went to be with our sweet River... I don't know what else to say, he was my world."
"I'm not sure what life is supposed to look like without my husband by my side and quite honestly I don't want to, but I will of course. I just hope that you always stay by my side watching over Hunter, Kaylee and I."
Patrick and Tasha lost their 11-month-old son River in 2021 from organ failure, with the Casino star sharing the heartbreaking news on social media at the time as well.
