Danny Go! creator Daniel Coleman announced the devastating news that his son Isaac, 14, passed away after an aggressive cancer diagnosis.
On Friday, May 22, the children's entertainer and dad-of-two shared to Instagram that his son Isaac died on Thursday, May 21, following his diagnosis with stage 3 mouth cancer. He posted a black-and-white photo of him and Isaac smiling and detailed the heartbreak.
"Isaac Daniel Coleman. 10/3/11 - 5/21/26," Daniel wrote. "Oh my sweet boy. There's so much I want to say, but I don't know how yet. I already miss you so much, and the pain in my heart is far more than I can process. But looking through thousands of pictures and videos this past week, I'm also filled with tremendous pride."
"Your 14 years were full of so many challenges, but you met them all with such grit…and you somehow kept your trademark joy in spite of it all," he continued. "You truly had a spark like no other, Isaac! Remembering how loved you were and how full of life your time here was gives me great comfort. Being your dad was the honor of a lifetime. I'm so proud of you and I love you forever. Rest peacefully, son."
Isaac passed away after a lifelong battle with Fanconi anemia and is survived by Daniel, his mom Mindy, and brother Levi.
What is Fanconi anemia?
In December 2025, Daniel announced Isaac's diagnosis: "We found out last week that Isaac has cancer in his mouth. TBH, we always knew this day was coming, as it's a near certainty w/ Fanconi anemia."
Fanconi anemia is a rare, inherited condition that affects bone marrow and other parts of the body, according to the Cleveland Clinic. People with it have an increased risk of developing blood disorders and some kinds of cancer. It can also cause physical abnormalities that can affect people's organs and appearance.
Daniel noted in his December 2025 post that the diagnosis came earlier than they hoped. "It is still just such a shocking thing to hear about your child, even if you've braced for it for years," he wrote. "Been getting lots of scans and we're not sure yet how much it's spread. But for now, the plan is to try and remove the cancer surgically asap."
Since the diagnosis, Isaac spent weeks in the hospital and underwent surgeries to remove the visible cancer. And while the family was hopeful the treatments would be successful, in April 2026, they shared that they were shifting into a "comfort-focused approach." Daniel wrote: "He has a hospice team onboard now to help manage the pain & we are just doing our best to make each day as enjoyable and restful as possible for him."
How did Danny Go! begin?
Daniel and his two childhood friends, Michael Finster and Matthew Padgett, created Danny Go! in 2019. The live-action educational children's show is filled with music, movement and silliness. The YouTube channel earns more than five million views a day. "Our goal is not for a kid to sit on the couch and just watch it," Daniel told Time Magazine.
