Twilight star, Taylor Lautner and his wife Tay Lautner, are growing their pack - as the pair announced the sex of their newest arrival on Instagram last night.
The baby girl, first announced in March, will be the couple's first child together after they tied the knot in 2022. In a witty nod to the couple's shared name, the 34-year-old captioned the post, "What’s better than two Taylor Lautners?"
The pair could be seen huddled around a laptop, both exclaiming in unison when "GIRL" came up in pink letters on the screen. Tay was overcome with emotion, sobbing into her hands, as Taylor put his arms around his wife, giving her a sweet kiss on the forehead.
Fans and fellow stars were quick to share in their excitement, as an outpour of love in the comment section followed. One fan wrote "WHOOO RUN THE WORLD? GIRLS!!!", as another chimed in with "I will forever be watching this on repeat. It's a girl!". Influencer and MUA Jaclyn Hill added, "Crying all over again! I’m so excited to meet her", followed by a teary emoji.
Taylor, who met his wife back in 2018, when his sister Makeena Moore, introduced him to Tay at a games night. "She called me and said, ‘Dude, I found your future wife. You need to meet this girl.’ And the rest is history," he told People.
In a post on his instagram story, Lautner said: "My dream has always been to become a girl dad."
"All of my puppies have been girls. Some of my best friends in the whole world are girls. My only sibling is my baby sister. I have an incredible mother."
The Grown Ups 2 actor continued with, "Tay is my favourite person to ever exist and she just so happens to be a girl. All I wanted was a healthy baby but deep down this moment is what I was dreaming of. The weight that was lifted off my shoulders in this moment knowing that dream came true was unlike anything I’ve felt. Tay is the strongest person I know and my hero."
He ended the sweet confession on a hopeful note, as the first time father-to-be admitted, "I can’t wait to welcome this little baby girl into our world. Team girl."
Tay, 29, has been open about her feelings around having children, telling Us Weekly she had some concerns about welcoming a baby in the current climate.
"Sometimes we get a little nervous. How do we raise kids [who] are going to be able to speak up for themselves or feel like they can talk to us about this? It scares me," she said.
"How do you raise a child now? I'm very thankful for people like Dr Amen, and a lot of my friends have kids or are just having kids. Getting to watch them walk through it and having the support from people like Dr Amen to help facilitate independence or whatever it may be is great."
Fans are certain the loved up pair will have no problems welcoming their baby girl into the world, with an army of loving family and friends to support them.
We couldn’t be more excited to meet the newest edition to the Lautner family, as the sweet post was captioned: "Our little secret is yours now".
