Al Roker has been accused of "rageful" antics on the set of Today by his former co-star, Billy Bush.
The star made an appearance on The Nerve podcast recently during which he pointing fingers at the much-loved meteorologist.
The pair briefly co-hosted together in 2016, but Billy insists the third hour of the NBC news show will never be a success due to Al being "totally unprepared."
"There's something about me in particular, forever, that was like [he] likes me but fears me, didn't want me anywhere near," he told the podcast host, Maureen Callahan. "The way I describe Al is three words: territorial, vindictive and chronically unprepared."
He added: "He's maybe the worst interviewer on television." Billy went on to insist Al isn't the man viewers have fallen in love with.
Billy calls Al is 'mean'
"People don't know how mean he was," Billy quipped. "He's mean. He's mean. He's a mean person. When you say rageful and all that, it’s mean. There is rage in there. There's jealousy. And I talk about vindictiveness, but he's mean."
Billy claims he was set to lead Today's third hour before the infamous Donald Trump incident.
Billy Bush's Donald Trump incident
In 2016, Access Hollywood footage surfaced showing the now POTUS making lewd comments about women while chatting to Billy. He was heard laughing and egging on the exchange.
Billy was subsequently suspended and then fired from the Today Show.
Billy said that when he joined Today he was made to feel unwelcome and that the male "territorial talent" didn't want him there. "You could feel it on their skin. I could feel it in the room with them."
Inside the Today family
The current hosts of Today, including Al, Craig Melvin, Dylan Dreyer, and Savannah Guthrie consistently talk of what a tight knit and happy family they are.
Billy's claims will, no doubt, come as a shock to the colleagues who have supported one another through challenging times off screen.
Craig previously told HELLO! what a hilarious person Al is.
When asked who the most amusing of his co-stars was he admitted: "Al Roker. Al is so funny. He's also so quick-witted. Some of it is born from his encyclopedic knowledge of everything. He's wit smart. That's also because he's been around longer. He knows more because he's seen and experienced more. He's as kind as he is funny."
