Josh Duhamel made an awkward realization this week when discussing his 21-year age gap with his wife, Audra Mari.
The Transformers star, 53, has been married to Audra, 32, since 2022, and they share two children: son Shepherd, two, and daughter Rocca, born in May 2026.
During his recent appearance on The HoneyDew With Ryan Sickler podcast, Josh revealed that he recently became aware of the fact that his wife is the same age as his youngest sister, Cassidy.
"Cassidy came along, and I was playing football at Minot State University. Warming up on the field. I remember looking up at the stands and I saw my mom had this bump," he shared.
"And I'm like, 'What the – Is my mom pregnant?' I'm 21 years old ... and she's having another baby."
He continued: "There's a picture of me holding Cassidy as a 21-year-old young man with this little bitty infant. I looked at the photo and I looked at my wife and, I said, 'You know, you and Cassidy are exactly the same age.'"
"...I am officially too old for you," he joked. "They're literally like months apart in age. I never looked at it like that until I saw that photo. I was like, 'Wait a second.'"
The Ransom Canyon actor and former Miss North Dakota USA dated for about three years before they tied the knot, but they were friends for a long time before they started dating.
The father-of-three – he shares son Axl, 12, with ex-wife Fergie – has cited their age gap as the reason.
Last May during an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Josh explained that he knew who Audra was because of her work in pageants, but it was actually her who reached out first.
Audra was crowned Miss World America in 2016 and represented the United States at Miss World the same year.
"It was truly platonic for years before that because I was like, 'No, she's too young for me. I'm not even going to go there,'" he maintained, before revealing: "Then, we started DMing back and forth."
They eventually forged a stronger connection. "Then, I invited her to a barbecue, still thinking it was totally platonic, just as a friend from [North Dakota]. There aren't many people from there.
"But she did come, and I saw her and I was like, 'Holy [expletive], this girl's beautiful.' She's more mature than I am."
He added: "That's really how we started dating, and it's been a beautiful thing. We've been married now for over two years. She's an amazing mother."
Audra, Josh, and their kids are largely based in a lakeside property in northwest Minnesota that he bought almost 20 years ago.
Speaking with Country Living, he described his cabin in rural Minnesota as akin to a "doomsday cabin." Noting it's "about 40 minutes from civilization."
He added: "It's an exhale whenever we get here. I feel so connected to it – I didn't just buy the place, I shaped this place. While we've made a lot of improvements, you still feel like you're roughing it, and I love that."
