Zendaya just proved that micro bangs are the hottest new hair trend this season. The actress graced a fan event for Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Mexico City on July 20 – and all eyes were on her luscious locks.

The actress embraced an Audrey Hepburn-inspired cut, with wispy, choppy bangs framing her bouffant updo. The new hairdo was courtesy of Ursula Stephen. The daring look was teamed with a custom Ashi Studio couture gown that featured a high neckline with long sleeves and a figure-hugging silhouette. The black dress featured lace panels set against sleek, silky material. The sleeve cuffs boasted long fringing at the trim for a daring, gothic-glam twist.

Zendaya's makeup was crafted by Ernesto Casillas and featured fluttery lashes, a smoky eye, rosy cheeks, and a rosy-nude lip.

How to achieve Zendaya's new micro bangs

Suzie McGill, Artistic Director at Rainbow Room International, spoke to us about Zendaya's new micro bangs. "Zendaya sported a brand-new hair look. She had her hair styled into a voluminous bun updo at the top of her head, almost replicating that of the classic bouffant," she shared.

"However, what stood out most was her new super-short, choppy fringe, often referred to as micro or baby bangs. Her bouffant bun is a timeless, elegant hairstyle, giving that Breakfast at Tiffany's vibe."

Suzi continued: "However, she has made this more contemporary, in keeping with today's trends, by giving the style a slightly messier, textured finish and adding even more quirkiness with her textured micro fringe."

Suzi also shared an insight into who would be able to pull off a similar hair look. "This fringe style is best for round face shapes, as being heavily textured, it can help break up the roundness and create the illusion of a more elongated face shape. It's also great for those with square face shapes, helping to soften features such as strong jawlines, and for oval faces – like Zendaya's – which can pull off most fringe hairstyles and, again, are great for adding harmony and balance to the face," she shared.

"With this haircut, it's so important that you visit a reputable hairstylist so they can tailor the length of the fringe to suit you, your face shape, hair type, and lifestyle."

Zendaya's new bangs come after she unveiled a 'bixie' cut during the press tour for The Odyssey. The cut strikes the perfect balance between a pixie and a bob, featuring slightly longer layers that create soft movement, added volume, and flattering face-framing shape.

The actress has been busy serving a hair marathon, as she appeared with longer locks  for the London premiere of Christopher Nolan's new film. Crafted by celebrity hairstylist Coree Moreno, Zendaya's locks were styled into a Grecian half-up half-down look with a braided crown. The look paired perfectly with her Schiaparelli’s fall 2026 couture gown that featured a marble sculpted corset with a fringed skirt.
