Craig Melvin loves his TODAY gig and family, but he thinks there's one thing that just might make him quit.

On the Monday, August 10 installment of the long-running news program, the TV anchor and co-host Savannah Guthrie — who returned on the day after a brief hiatus to film the new Wordle game show in London — discussed the current Powerball jackpot, which has reached a whopping $905 million.

"Here's the thing, you might not see me again. If I hit the Powerball tonight, I'm playing tonight, if I hit it, SG, it was a fun ride while it lasted," Craig teased, with Savannah joking back: "You're not one of those, 'I'll still go to work every day' [people]?"

"It's $905,000,000, a lot of people are dreaming big this morning," she added.

Craig joined TODAY as a weekday news anchor in August 2018, and has been main co-anchor alongside Savannah since January 2025, following Hoda Kotb's exit.
