Catherine shared a throwback photo from her JAG days to social media
Catherine Bell's JAG days
Catherine broke onto the scene in the legal drama JAG – the U.S. military acronym for Judge Advocate General – in 1995. She starred as Mac, a Marine Corps lawyer, until the show wrapped in 2005. But, her stardom was never guaranteed.
"I had a couple of scenes [in season one]. I was in one scene where, really, the only thing was the flashback of me, and Harm happened to be in love with this girl. She was coming, I guess, to see him, or he went to see her as the ship comes in, and instead, I'm dead. I'm in a body bag," Catherine recalled to Screen Rant.
Two years after JAG wrapped, Catherine starred in the drama Army Wives as Denise Sherwood, alongside Sterling K. Brown and Wendy Davis. She appeared on the show for its entirety, until 2013 when it was cancelled.
These days, Catherine meets many of her Good Witch fans at pop-culture events
Catherine was a Good Witch
Catherine's success kept coming when she landed a role as the main character on Hallmark's The Good Witch. She went on to appear in its six sequels. 18 years after the TV film premiered, Catherine still looks back at the experience fondly.
"I miss the character. I miss the magic. I think we all were a bit surprised when it ended because we didn't get the ending we would've wanted...We have not given up trying to get a movie made," she explained at the 2024 Christmas Con.
The star posted a side-by-side picture showing her transformation from November 2025 and May 2026 to her Instagram. The results were impressive, as Catherine showcased toned abs in the more recent shot. The actress opened up about her routine when she shared photos of her in a pilates room with the overlaid text: "Proof that small habits really do add up…"
Although the transformation was no small feat and should be celebrated, the star was initially hesitant about posting the looks.
She captioned: "Almost didn't share the second photo because it felt a little vulnerable… but I think sometimes we all need a little reminder that change doesn't happen overnight, but sometimes slowly, quietly, and through CONSISTENCY, especially as we get older!"
She's been honest about the hard work her body transformation took
How Catherine transformed her body
In the beginning of this summer, Catherine told her social media followers: "I've been hinting at this for months and I'm finally telling you everything."
She went on: "Last November I started something quietly — and it has completely changed my body and how I feel – stronger than I've been in years. That stubborn over-40 (or 50!) weight? Gone. Actual muscle? Yes. And I travel constantly — this works from anywhere, all you need is dumbbells."
