Debbie Gibson turned 56 on August 31 and she rang in her special day in a festive way – by performing in Adelaide, Australia.
The star rocked the stage while showing off her never-ending legs in a green romper with mini-shorts and matching heels, and she gave an inside glimpse on social media.
She completed the look with bangs and a ponytail, and during her energetic set, the singer was surprised with a cake onstage, as she smiled ear-to-ear.
Prior to her performance, she got ready in an olive green maxi-dress as she danced backstage while straightening her hair.
Debbie Gibson's message for her 56th birthday
Debbie shared a heartwarming picture of her younger self sporting a yellow ruffled dress, straw hat and a miniature guitar on her big day.
The entertainer got sentimental in her caption as she expressed: "I was thinking about what picture defines me and this one came to mind. I know many of you have seen it before. It's who I've always been and who I will always be. Marching to my own drum, a bit defiant… and my legs [as] starring characters in the show onstage and off. Even at two years old on the front steps in Merrick, Long Island!"
She continued: "Maybe it's the freedom I feel when I'm being 100 me. It's never about how I look… I don't always nail the aesthetics. It's about how the way I feel informs the way I move through life."
Debbie credited her parents for instilling a deep love for music from a young age, as she gushed: "TY Dad for instilling the joy of music into my piano fingers and voice and my late Mom who couldn't get over the Aussie love til the day she transcended."
She left her fans with parting words of wisdom and hope, as she expressed: "I hope you all find a purpose in your life like the one I've been lucky enough to find…Art is a most noble and worthy profession…the hardest and most rewarding road one can go down if called to do so…so to my fellow artists, we need you more than ever. Just ask Dolly!"
In conclusion, Debbie asked her fans to pay it forward in celebration of her birthday as she concluded: "If you want to give me a gift today, do something kind. Donate to a shelter. Smile at someone! Ask how their day is going. Tell them DG sent you xo."
