Worth a staggering $378 billion, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is currently the second richest man in the world, and has an extensive property portfolio and roster of luxury yachts to match.
He clearly pulls out all the stops when it comes to his lifestyle, including his lavish 2025 wedding to Lauren Sanchez, 56.
When 62-year-old Bezos set sail on his custom 417-foot superyacht, the spectacular Koru, he wasn't just showing off a half-billion-dollar vessel — he was launching the ultimate floating backdrop for his relationship with former newscaster Sanchez.

Jeff and Lauren's personal love boat
One of the world's largest sailing yachts, the massive Dutch-built schooner, with its distinctive midnight blue hull, has been the setting for the Bezoses' most romantic moments, and has some fascinating details that reflect on the couple's relationship. With a look at five key highlights and details on board, it seems appropriate that the name of the yacht, Koru, means "new beginnings."

The secret deck proposal: Lauren Sánchez's $3 million pink diamond ring
Koru, which was delivered in 2023, became a part of celebrity romance lore when Jeff proposed to Lauren aboard the yacht in May of that year. The pair enjoyed an intimate dinner under the stars on the yacht's deck — a luxurious, and private, setting fit for the occasion. After dinner, Lauren found a pink diamond ring, estimated to be about 30 carats, and worth upwards of $3 million, under her pillow. "When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit," she told Vogue in a December 2023 interview.
Around the time of the engagement the couple were snapped looking loved up as they took photos on the deck. Lauren was wearing her dazzling diamond, leading to headlines about their engagement.

The truth behind the figurehead: Was it modeled after Lauren Sánchez?
The internet was alight with rumors when paparazzi photos revealed a wooden carving on the yacht that looked suspiciously like Lauren's likeness, displaying the same cascading hair, as well as similar high cheekbones and facial structure.
The stunning sculpture of a curvaceous goddess mounted on the bow was said to have been commissioned by Jeff in her honor.
As romantic as it sounds, and despite numerous reports, the rumor was in fact a complete myth. Asked about the sculpture during her Vogue interview, Lauren denied it was her likeness. "I'm very flattered, but it's not," she said. Gesturing to her curves, Mrs. Bezos added: "If it was me…", essentially putting the rumors to rest.
But what does the figurehead represent? It's actually a representation of the Norse goddess Freyja, who symbolizes love, fertility, war, death, beauty and magic. And in another symbolic detail, the statue wears a carved necklace featuring a pendant shaped as a koru, which is the spiral motif found in indigenous Māori art.

Smart glass and private decks: Privacy for the couple who has everything
Koru is designed with complete privacy for its guests in mind. The vessel has smart glass along several areas, which can be switched from transparent to opaque in an instant. It also has the capacity to anchor well offshore, additional protection from prying eyes.
The yacht's layout provides for a private owner's deck with an exclusive suite, secluded dining verandas and private outdoor lounges. These intimate zones are just part of the superyacht's amenities, along with two on-deck pools, an outdoor dining area and a hot tub, while inside there are plush features including a movie theatre, a chic dining space and a bar.

The $75M shadow ship & Lauren’s private helipad
Of course if you're one of the richest people in the world, just one superyacht isn't enough — you need a fleet to truly travel in style. The Koru, a traditional sailing ship with three huge 230-foot masts, could not be fitted with a helipad directly, so instead there's one on the Abeona, its 246-foot dedicated support vessel that follows the Koru everywhere.
Lauren became a licensed helicopter pilot at the age of 40, so the helicopter landing pad is another thoughtful nod to her passions. She has used the helipad as her personal landing pad to fly guests and family alike to and from the fleet. The shadow ship has all the toys tucked inside, from a submarine and tenderboats to a car, jet skis and deep-sea diving gear.
A significant portion of the fleet's 40 crew members reside on the Abeona when it's at sea.

Life onboard: Custom robes and glam rooms
The chic decor of the yacht is designed to be modern and timeless, with teak decks, natural wood accents and warm neutrals. As you can imagine, life on the floating mansion is the pinnacle of luxury — up to 18 guests can be accommodated in the Koru's nine suites and there's even reportedly a dedicated Beauty Room equipped for glam squads.
Friends including Kris Jenner and Oprah Winfrey have been on board, and it was the site of Jeff and Lauren's engagement party. While there aren't too many images of the interiors, Lauren did share a snap from a girls' night on board, with guests including Kris wearing branded Koru robes, with the signature spiral motif, for the celebration.
From its symbolic name to its role in a $3 million wedding proposal the three-year-old Koru is already much more than a trophy asset. The world's tallest sailing yacht is filled with nods to super-rich romance.
