Goldie Hawn has been a leading presence in Hollywood for decades so it's only right that the actress is beginning to get her flowers, starting with The Paley Honors Award, the highest honor from the Paley Center.
"I’m deeply honored to receive this recognition," said Goldie in a statement given to HELLO!
"My career has been a joyful journey filled with wonderful stories, generous collaborators, and audiences who have welcomed me into their lives. I’m grateful for every opportunity to create, to make people laugh, and to keep learning along the way."
Goldie, known for her lighthearted comedic roles in film and television over a six-decade-long career, is also mom to three successful actors – Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson, and Wyatt Russell, her son with partner Kurt Russell – and in 2003, founded the Hawn Foundation, which educates underprivileged children through the MindUP program.
"One of the most meaningful parts of my life has been founding MindUP and helping children understand their brains, build mental fitness, and thrive," Goldie continued.
"Thank you for honoring my work and for sharing this moment with me. I accept it with a full heart and deep gratitude."
Goldie launched her career in 1968, but in the last two decades her focus has been on her philanthropy work, where she is supported by Kurt, who she has been with since 1983, and her children; Goldie is the chair of MindUP and daughter Kate is a board member.
Kurt has helped to raise funds via screenings and fan experiences.
"The reason I really like this [cause] is because it's science-based," Kurt told MovieWeb in 2026. "What [Goldie] wanted to do was be able to have children understand how their mind is working."
In September, Goldie made a low-key trip to New York City to visit elementary school, PS133Q, in Queens, to see "MindUP in action" and spend time "with the incredible students, educators and school leaders bringing the program to life every day. "
"Thank you to the entire P.S. 133 community for the beautiful welcome, and for your commitment to helping children find greater peace, empathy and happiness," Goldie shared on social media.
Alongside her charity work, Goldie has steadily worked in TV and film. She won her Oscar for 1969's Cactus Flower, and in 1980, she worked alongside Liza Minnelli on a primetime variety special – Goldie and Liza Together – which was nominated for four Emmys.
That same year she co–produced and starred in the comedy Private Benjamin, which garnered Goldie a second Oscars nomination.
In 1987, she worked alongside her partner Kurt for the third time in the comedy Overboard; the film has gone on to become a comedy classic.
In the 2000s, she enjoyed a career resurgence, appearing alongside Kurt again as Mrs. Claus in the Netflix film The Christmas Chronicles, and its sequel The Christmas Chronicles 2.
Goldie will receive the award during the Center's annual Gala Benefiting the Paley Center’s Education Programs on December 3.
"Goldie Hawn is a beloved trailblazer whose timeless charm and exceptional talent have earned her a place as one of the most influential and respected figures in entertainment. Across her extraordinary career, she has dazzled audiences with her unforgettable performances and won over the world with her wit, generous spirit, and unrivaled comedic gifts,” said Maureen J. Reidy, President & CEO, The Paley Center for Media.
"We are delighted to honor her for her enduring legacy.
Greg Berlanti was previously announced as the second 2026 honoree. Greg has shaped TV in the 21st century, writing and helping to launch and steer shows such as Dawson's Creek, Brothers & Sisters, Arrow, You, Riverdale, and The Flight Attendant.
