Fans and celebrities alike have been expressing their delight at the news of Fabrice Muamba's release from hospital.
The Bolton Wanderers star was released from the London Chest Hospital where he has paid tribute to all the staff who have helped him along his road to recovery.
Fabrice is pictured above with cardiologist Dr Andrew Deaner - the first doctor at the scene of his collapse after he ran through the crowds and onto the pitch to help save the footballer's life.
Dr Deaner alongside Dr Sam Mohiddin - both of Barts Health NHS Trust - have overseen his case since the start and desscribed Fabrice's recovery as "miraculous".
Fabrice said: "I am naturally very pleased to be discharged from hospital and would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to every single member of staff at The London Chest Hospital who have played a part in my care.
"Their dedication, professionalism and expertise is simply amazing and I will forever be in their debt. I also wish to say thank you to all the many well-wishers who have sent thousands of messages of support."
