At least one member of The Royle Family will have a starring role during the Diamond Jubilee.
Actress Sue Johnston is set to be included in the BBC's line-up for the event.
Coverage from the corporation will include a screening of the concert taking place outside Buckingham Palace and a documentary made about the Queen by the Prince of Wales.
It will also show a four-and-a-half-hour broadcast of the Thames pageant, hosted by Matt Baker and Sophie Raworth from a studio at the former Billingsgate fish market.
BBC boat The Zephyr will be a base for guests including Frank Skinner, Sandi Toksvig and Sue, who will provide "an alternative and amusing reflection on the pageant".
