Becks to stay in US Army barracks for Thanksgiving

David Beckham is to share a roof with American soldiers as part of a morale-boosting trip for Thanksgiving.

The soccer star will show his support for US servicemen by staying in an army barracks when he and his LA Galaxy teammates make a trip to Kaiserslautern in south-west Germany next week.

Becks and the squad are aiming to provide some cheer over the US holiday period by visiting army families and injured troops during a four-day visit.

They're also scheduled to play a friendly match against local side Kaiserslautern FC on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, to which several thousand servicemen and their families have been invited.
