Although he plays on his Mr Nasty image, it seems deep down Simon Cowell is a big-hearted guy.
The music mogul is organising a charity single for victims of the Haiti earthquake.
The idea apparently came from Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who contacted Simon and asked him to mastermind the Live Aid-style record.
"We are going to do a single. I've got to get it together in 48 hours. I wanted to do something for Haiti and we had a request from the Prime Minister to put a record together," Simon revealed at Wednesday's TV awards.
"We're going to attempt to do something in a very short space of time. And Cheryl has said she's on board."
The 50-year-old is expected to call on artisits who appeared on the X Factor recently, including Sir Paul McCartney, George Michael and Robbie Williams.
