Charlie Sheen interview causes show cancellation

He is one of Hollywood's highest paid TV actors, earning more than £1 million per episode of Two and a Half Men.

But production of the hit show has been halted following Charlie Sheen's latest comments in a radio interview about the series' creator Chuck Lorre.

The 45-year-old star - who has been in rehab for several weeks following hospitalisation for drug and drink problems - called Chuck a "clown" and a "charlatan".

In response CBS and Warner Brothers released a statement saying: "Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Brothers Television have decided to discontinue production of Two and a Half Men for the remainder of the season."
