The British monarch is to stop breeding corgis after two of her beloved dogs died. The 83-year-old decided not to replace the dogs, and instead let her seven-strong pack decrease naturally.
"It's a sign she realises she is getting older and can't look after such a large pack," a senior royal source tells the Sun newspaper.
The 30 or so dogs the Queen has owned over the years have all descended from her first corgi Susan, which her parents gave her in 1944.
She was "deeply upset" in April when her favourite died from cancer at the age of 12, followed by another from the same disease this month.
